Meet the team
The CNWL Club Drug Clinic is a team of specialist doctors, nurses, counsellors and psychologists who are all experienced in helping people who have a problem with drugs. The team is based in Earls Court at the Kensington & Chelsea Community Assessment & Primary Service (CAPS) and accepts referrals from anyone living in the boroughs of Kensington & Chelsea, Hammersmith & Fulham and Westminster.
What we do: Psychiatrists are medical doctors who specialise in helping people with substance use and other psychological problems.
What we do: The nurses in the clinic are trained mental health nurses who have specialised in working with people with addictions. If you require a detox the nurses will supervise this as well as see you for counselling sessions.
What we do: We offer one-to-one support (e.g. key-work, relapse management, motivational interviewing, CBT, counselling) to help people think about why they use Club Drugs, and how they might want to experiment with changing their thoughts and behaviours in order to reduce or stop.
What we do: We have a range of counsellors who provide a variety of support from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to Motivational Interviewing and Relapse Management.
What we do: The practice of Mindfulness meditation is an extremely helpful tool for those coping with cravings or uncomfortable feelings. We offer mindfulness groups or 1-2-1 sessions as appropriate.
Peer Support Workers:
What we do: Peer support workers are people with lived experience of substance use issues who provide informed support to others.
What we do: We are the first people you will see when you come to the clinic. We help to ensure that your visit to the clinic is as good as possible.
