NOS, Loons, laughing gas

  • Canisters or ‘whippets’.
  • It sometimes has a slightly sweet smell

Inhaled often via balloon, sometimes directly from cannister however this is riskier due to the very cold temperature potentially damaging throat and impacting breathing and heart rate

Positive effects can include euphoria, relaxation, calmness, giggles, hallucinations (short lived).

Negative effects sometimes found can include headaches, dizziness, paranoia lasting a short period of time.

  • Risk of loss of consciousness,  which can result suffocating from lack of oxygen
  • Heavy, regular use may result in B12 deficiency resulting in nerve damage particularly to the hands and feet which can even cause paralysis.
